Griffin Bay High School

Griffin Bay High School provides high school students with an alternative to the traditional high school program.  Serving students with a wide variety of learning styles and backgrounds, contract courses and teacher led classes fulfill Washington state graduation requirements.  Credits are awarded based on successful completion of studies and activities addressing state standards.  We are in the process of accessing online course options.

Students at Griffin Bay High School:

  • May earn a 19 credit Washington State Diploma with required WASL competency tests and senior project

  • Will enroll in contract based classes, teacher led classes, and in the fall of 2008 on-line classes as needed

  • Will meet with GBHS staff in a weekly academic conference

  • May, with required credits and skills, take classes at Skagit Valley Community College

Griffin Bay High School offers schedule flexibility that allows some students to hold jobs. Student success is based on the quality of the student’s independent learning skills. This diploma does not provide for direct entry into four year post high school universities and colleges.
