About The School Board
An elected Board of five board members governs the San Juan Island School District. Board Members are elected to 4-year terms. Regular board meetings are held in the Friday Harbor High School library at 5 pm monthly. Additionally, special meetings are scheduled when needed. The heart of the board’s work is providing direction to the Superintendent regarding board goals for the district. The board governs the district, but it does not operate it. The board represents the values of the community and serves as a link between the district and our island community.
