Foreign Exchange

  • Foreign exchange programs are a great way to experience other cultures, learn another language, make new friends, and add impressive experience to a resume or college applications.

Students who do well as exchange students are independent, adaptable, excited to challenge themselves, and don't mind missing out on a year of high school in the US.

Junior year is an ideal time to go on exchange, but it is possible to go during senior year, or as an underclassman depending on the exchange program's eligibility requirements (there is usually an age requirement).

Credit earned abroad does count for FHHS credit if properly documented.

Families interested in foreign exchange must meet with the school counselor to discuss credits before a student leaves.
